Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on the afternoon of September 7, Mr. Huynh Vo Nhat Huy, Head of the Co May Dormitory Management Board, said these students not only demonstrated strong academic performance but also exceptional resilience and determination in life.
Initially, the management board planned to select only 100 students, but due to the significant number of applications with extremely difficult circumstances, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Oanh (wife of the late businessman Pham Van Ben, founder of the Co May Dormitory) decided to increase the number to 107 students.
“Most of the students come from poor families or are orphaned and have no financial means to attend university. This timely support will help them continue pursuing their academic dreams and personal development,” Mr. Huy added.
For the 2025–2026 academic year, Co May Dormitory continues to seek 100 new students with particularly challenging circumstances, orphaned students, students without financial capability to continue studying, academically excellent high school students, students achieving good results in the national high school graduation exam (20 points or higher), or students scoring highly in the competency assessment exam of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City.
Students selected will receive free accommodation, monthly living expense support, meal allowances, medical insurance and accident insurance, full coverage of their first-year tuition fees, and continued consideration for support based on academic performance in the following semesters.
In addition, students will receive support for computer science and foreign language courses and will be able to participate in soft-skills activities, extracurricular programs, clubs at the dormitory, and personal development programs within a positive and safe living environment.
